Primary Workshop Year 5 & 6
This workshop is aimed at students in years 5 and 6. The sessions will be for 3/4 students in a team environment. Each team will be provided with one mobile phone with a camera cage, which will have video editing software installed on the phone.
The teams will be set a task ie showcase the school facilities or showcasing their classroom. they will then write a story board before being taught how to capture the best shots on their provided phones. Then they will work together to capture the shots from their storyboard.
The second part of the workshop will be learning how to add and edit their videos with text, effects and audio.
At the end of the day the class will sit down and watch all of the teams short films which then would be judged by the class teacher with a prizes gifted to the winning team and Kid Kamera stickers to the whole class.
All videos created in the workshop will be uploaded to a drive and sent to school.
Secondary workshop Year 7 & 9
This workshop is aimed at year 7 to 9. The session will be for students in teams of 2. Each set of students will be provided a phone and camera cage which will have the video editing software installed on the phone.
The duo will be tasked with creating a short film which showcases a subject that they are both interested in. This will be done via a story board which they will then take action in creating the footage to piece together with tips they will learn in the first part of the session.
The second part of the workshop will be learning technics on how to edit those clips together in a fun and punchy way adding text and music along with some amazing effects.
At the end of the day there will be a showcase of short films which the teacher will judge and the two winners will receive a prize along with Kid Kamera stickers for the rest of the class.
All videos created in the workshop will be uploaded to a drive and sent to school.
Secondary workshop Year 10 & 11
This workshop is aimed at Year 10 & 11 students. The students will be put into teams of 2 to 4 students. Each team will be provided a phone and camera cage which will have video editing software installed on the phone.
The team will be tasked with creating a "Welcome to our School" Short film (60-90 Seconds). The idea is for the students to get creative in ways in which they showcase the school, whether that be talking to the camera or adding text in post edit. They will first complete a story board before being shown expert tips and tricks on how to capture the right shot for the job.
The second part of the session will be getting down to the fun stuff, EDITING :). They will learn hows to cut footage, overlay the schools logo onto the clips, add text and audio with a few stock drone images to use at their disposal.
At the end of the day the Workshop teacher will judge how the students did with a prize gifted to the winning team.
